Abstract

The advent of the Society 5.0 era presents contemporary challenges to Islamic legal scholars and practitioners, particularly in the realm of applying traditional fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) to modern business issues. This study explores the construction of contemporary fiqh using interdisciplinary methods such as istiqrā' (deductive reasoning), collaboration, and interdisciplinary knowledge integration to effectively address these challenges. The research findings indicate that this approach allows for a flexible and adaptive framework capable of tackling the multifaceted aspects of contemporary fiqh in the Society 5.0 era. It aligns with essential Islamic principles like justice, transparency, piety, and maintaining a balance between material and spiritual dimensions in contemporary business practices. However, the study also identifies challenges arising from the rapid digitalization of the economy and the adverse effects of globalization on business practices. Despite these challenges, the construction of contemporary fiqh holds the potential to not only raise awareness about the significance of Islamic business ethics but also to instill a sense of social responsibility and adherence to Islamic values within the evolving landscape of Society 5.0.
